National Motor Racing Museum

The National Motor Racing Museum celebrates the rich history of Australian Motor Sport, with a particular focus on Bathurst and Mount Panorama as the spiritual home of Australian motor racing. Located at Murray’s Corner, Mount Panorama – an address the envy of motorsports Australia-wide.

From humble beginnings as a temporary display, the Museum, then known as The Bathurst Motor Racing Museum was officially opened in 1988 by the late Peter Brock. Through changes in name and the move to our current location, the Museum and collection have grown substantially over the last 30 years to cover all facets of motorsport from the 1920s to the present. The stories of drivers and events are told through original trophies, race suits, leathers, race footage, and photographs.

See many of the dominant machines that ran in Australian touring car, open-wheeler, rally, motorcycle, and speedway races. Take in one of our ever-changing exhibitions and experience the spectacular Immersive Room which gives visitors a taste of the speed, sound, and excitement of racing at Mount Panorama.

Campe’s Motor Museum

Campe’s Motor Museum is every motor enthusiast’s dream come true. Founded more than three decades ago, the museum is home to vintage cars and an array of motor memorabilia.

You will find Campe’s Motor Museum, just behind the famous Big Woolbales, and only 3kms north-west of the Hamilton city center.

This museum started when Glen and Margaret Campe began running “Campe’s Coaches” back in the 1980s which ran a school bus run each day as well as bus charters. They grew their business to include a fleet of 14 buses.

Today, the museum celebrates cars, vans, and motorbikes by displaying them in its large exhibition shed. Some of the most notable attractions on-site include a 1955 Ansett Clipper Bus, a Citroen 1933, and a stunning Stutz 1929.

You will also be able to view motoring memorabilia, photos, and antiques and will be able to get up close with the many vintage cars on display. The museum is open daily, but it is wise to call ahead to check.

York Motor Museum

From the dawn of motoring when cars had three wheels, not four, to the great classic cars of the 1920s and 1930s, to the American cars of the 1950s dripping with chrome and the Aussie race cars from Bathurst of the 1970s, the York Motor Museum is an automobile exhibition for anyone with the tiniest spark of interest in motoring.

Housing the collection of motoring enthusiast, Peter Briggs, a selection of vehicles on loan from the Museum of Western Australia and private vehicles on loan, the Museum is a celebration of the excitement, the speed and the style of the automobile. It captures the passion of motoring like no other museum in Australia.

The exhibits include Veteran, Vintage, Classic and Racing Cars plus Motorcycles and Racing Bikes. In addition to the motor vehicles of all shapes and sizes, visitors to this charming tourist attraction can also enjoy the delights of the colourful collection of posters, motoring memorabilia and photographs.
