Veit Automotive Foundation Educational Museum

Veit Automotive Foundation Educational Museum

The Veit Automotive Foundation Educational Museum is preserving Cars for Future Generations, educating all ages about our past & present while preserving Classics for the future.

The Veit Automotive Foundation is more than about the Hot Rods we display.  They are about the history, the people, the car clubs, and the genre it represents.

The Foundation started with modest beginnings as the Veit Family car collection. Early on, they shared the family’s personal car collection with friends, family, and car clubs alike. It wasn’t until they established the non-profit 501C-3 foundation and opened the museum to the public for the first time in July of 1998 that the foundation became official.

Today, the Veit Automotive Foundation is located on a 500-acre campus an hour outside of Minneapolis just South of Monticello, MN off of I94. The foundation’s multiple vintage-looking barns house 70-plus restored vehicles and over 200 rare and unusual gas pumps.

The vehicles reside in the vintage-looking barns specifically built to house the vehicles on display. The foundation’s museum allows us to share the historical artifacts within the collection.

Yesterday’s Memories

Yesterday’s Memories is a collection of antique items on display to remind us of times gone by. Included is a nice collection of antique and specialty trucks.

Located in Sanborn Iowa, Yesterday’s Memories Museum houses 1000’s of items from the years gone by. Almost 80 years ago, the Vander Haag family began to collect trucks and cars. John Vander Haag senior opened Southside Junkyard in 1939 which sold recycled automotive and truck parts. The company, which was later renamed to Vander Haag’s Inc., eventually dropped the automotive side of the business and focused solely on trucks. The family began to collect things like children’s toys, fuel pumps, historic trucks, cars, and mechanical implements.
