VanHorn’s Western & Antique Auto Museum features 4 large buildings with hundreds of beautiful antique cars, western stagecoaches, movie posters, and other historical memorabilia. Plus a miniature car collection and a vast collection of license plates, the oldest of which dates back to 1901, and more! It also showcases arrowheads, baseball cards, and Buddy L toys and dolls.

The Gilmore Car Museum is North America’s Largest Auto Museum — over 300 cars on display, nearly 190,000 sq. ft. of Exhibit space, a 90-acre historic campus, and much more.
The Gilmore Car Museum started in the early 1960s when Donald S. Gilmore began collecting vintage automobiles. Some of the first vehicles in his collection included a 1927 Ford Model T, a 1913 Rolls Royce, and a 1920 Pierce-Arrow. Restoring that classic Pierce-Arrow at his home on nearby Gull Lake ignited a passion. Over the years that followed Donald continued collecting some of the world’s most renowned automobiles.
To accommodate his collection he acquired 90 acres of land in southwestern Michigan in a small town known as Hickory Corners. It was his wife Genevieve who had the idea of turning the collection into a museum, providing future generations access to Donald’s one-of-a-kind collection. They established a non-profit foundation and opened the museum to the public for the first time on Sunday, July 31, 1966.
Today, the Gilmore Car Museum is North America’s largest auto museum with over 400 vehicles on display and over 190,000 square feet of exhibit space. The Museum’s 90-acre Historic Campus features numerous vintage structures including a restored and fully-functioning 1941 Silk City Diner, a recreated 1930s Shell Station, six onsite Partner Museums, and so much more.

Showcasing transportation history, the museum is Wisconsin’s largest auto museum, featuring an ever-changing display of classic and vintage autos and artifacts plus the largest assembled group of Hartford-built Kissel luxury automobiles.
The museum’s art deco interior sets off 125+ vehicles on exhibit, including Pontiacs, Studebakers, Chevrolets, Kaisers, Fords, and other cars from around the world. The collection is rounded out by displays of automotive artifacts such as gas pumps, signs, license plates, oil cans, and other Petrolina. An assortment of outboard engines built in Hartford from the 1930s to the 1990s is also on display.
The high-caliber Kissel automobiles were manufactured in Hartford from 1906 to 1931, making Kissel the second-longest car manufacturer in Wisconsin. Of the 27,000 produced, fewer than 150 are known to exist today, with 30 currently exhibited at the museum. The most famous Kissel model was the two-passenger Speedster, nicknamed the “Gold Bug.” Gold Bug owners included celebrities of the day such as Amelia Earhart, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Greta Garbo, and Fatty Arbuckle. A wide selection of models including 4 passengers, coupes, touring cars, fire engines, and trucks are part of the collection.
The Nash Car Club of America has space within the museum dedicated to Wisconsin-based vehicles and related memorabilia. Nash began in Kenosha, Wisconsin, when the Thomas B. Jeffery Company was purchased by Charles Nash in 1916.
The Hudson Essex Terraplane Historical Society and Southeastern Wisconsin Short Track Hall of Fame also maintain special display areas for their vehicles.
The museum is home to and showcases the 1913 #1003 Soo Line steam locomotive along with other railroad artifacts.
