The Lampasas Auto Company Museum building was constructed in 1880, but served as a Ford dealership from 1917 to 1963. After that, it became a bowling alley, Western Auto, a Magnolia filling station, and a hardware store.
The founder is usually at the museum on weekends and is always glad to show the collection. The museum is mostly Ford or Ford-related vehicles. However, there are several others (Ferrari Dino prototype, Maserati Merak, Porsche 914, ‘59 Corvette fulie). The cars in the collection range from 1909 to 1979.

Historic Auto Attractions is not only home to famous cars, but also a wide array of movie memorabilia. Some of those pieces include Marilyn Monroe’s nightgown, a sweater worn by Hollywood legend James Dean, and an outfit worn by Elvis Presley. The Pontiac-Oakland Museum located in Pontiac, Illinois houses a collection of vehicles and memorabilia that spans the history of the Pontiac and Oakland car brands up until their departures from the manufacturing of vehicles.
The Pontiac City Council approved the museum’s creation on January 3, 2011, and work began immediately on the remodeling of the museum’s new space. Throughout the spring of 2011 trucks and trailers arrived with boxes of items destined for display at the museum. In May the first load of classic cars arrived in Pontiac, and in June the first of those cars was driven into the museum display space.
