To celebrate the heritage and remarkable achievements of these many enterprises, the Pontiac Transportation Museum is being created to showcase examples of the cars, trucks, and other vehicles designed or built here – and the culture that truly changed the nation and the world.
The Museum will also honor the industrialization of this community and the many people whose work inspired these efforts. Through the museum’s existing and growing collections we will endeavor—through displays, teaching, and community programs—to help educate and inspire young people to chart their own destiny in an increasingly technical world.

The FWD Foundation began with the original Machine Shop where mechanics Otto Zachow and William Besserdich invented and patented the first successful four-wheel drive concept automobile.
In 2016, the FWD Foundation acquired a second building on 15th Street in Clintonville, WI to allow for additional displays/exhibits and space indoors for over 80 trucks. While FWD/Seagrave trucks are the main focus, they do display other rare trucks.

The MY Garage Museum & Retail Store is a popular attraction at Mid America Motorworks’ facilities in Effingham. The center houses literally thousands of pieces of automotive collectibles and memorabilia.
The facility also showcases an actual 1910 gas station that was moved and restored on-site. However, the most significant pieces in the collection are the bevy of prototypes, concepts, and racing vehicles.
The museum has recently refocused emphasis from rare, low-mileage originals to showcasing automobiles that car lovers would not be able to see up close anywhere else. Between 15 and 20 cars are on display, with the specific display changing throughout the year. The museum’s current display includes the Last C4 Corvette, with the last small block engine produced in the Flint, Michigan plant, a 3000-mile original 1954 model, and CERV I, an open-wheel engineering prototype created by legendary Corvette designer Zora Arkus-Duntov, now restored to its original condition.
