The Weekly 3

Last week, I had the very unfortunate news to announce the closure of the Klairmont Kollection Automotive Museum. No one emailed me to tell me I should go buy a bunch of stuff at their auction.

Not that I wouldn’t love to, but that is not the position Miles Through Time Automotive Museum or I are currently in. However, the news has seemed to break a little more about the big Mecum auction, and there is still no shortage of people telling me I need to go buy things.

Perhaps, one day, I’ll find myself traveling to car auctions with budgets I can’t even fathom, but for now, my focus is just ensuring Miles Through Time Automotive Museum will stick around long after I’m gone. Which means I need to get a building built.

Until then, the auctions are safe from me. 😉

As if one museum closure and auction weren’t enough. Rodz and Bodz Movie Cars and More Museum is also closing on 8/3/25. This doesn’t give you a lot of time to visit, but you do have the opportunity to bid at the auction on 8/22/25 and 8/23/25.

This museum has had to move a couple of times since being in the guide. I don’t know the exact circumstances, but I’m willing to bet the issue is similar to mine at Miles Through Time. Museums should not be in a lease if at all possible.

The Graham Museum is open seasonally. I have not been able to visit this museum yet, but I have had the pleasure of meeting the founders, Mike and Pat Markin, and watching their museum grow since 2021.

The final museum I will share with you this week is the Wellborn Musclecar Museum. If you love American 60s and 70s muscle cars, this museum is a must. The hours are limited, so plan accordingly.

I love the feedback I get from people telling me how much they use and love the Automotive Museum Guide. I really do hope the guide can help prevent future automotive museums from closing, and make it easy for visitors to find amazing automotive museums to visit.

Every single automotive museum is different. Some you’ll like more than others, some will surprise you, some may disappoint you, but they will all make memories.

Have a great week!
