The Weekly 3

Last week I mentioned a few museums you could visit that showcase many tractors. This week, I figured I would go to the polar opposite and share a few motorcycle museums. I got some bonuses for you as well.

I’m a fan of motorcycles, and I really believe you can’t have too many. Miles Through Time Automotive Museum has had an old Harley and a Motto Guzzi donated to the museum. Plus, I have my mother-in-law’s Yamaha DT360 and I built a café racer in my basement a few years ago when I had idle hands out of a BMW K100RS.

There are a couple of other motorcycles on loan, but there are less than 10 on display. I can always make room for many more. The museums I’ll share with you this week have way more than 10 motorcycles on display.

The St. Francis Motorcycle Museum has more than 110 vintage motorcycles on display. Whether you ride or not, these bikes are works of art, especially the older motorcycles.

There are a lot of motorcycles in Kansas. The Kansas Motorcycle Museum started in 2003 and showcases Stan “The Man” Engdahl’s motorcycle racing career. Along with a lot of other motorcycles and memorabilia.

You’re not in Kansas anymore when you visit Dale’s Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum. Not to be confused with Miles Through Time Automotive Museum, Wheels O’ Time Museum, or Rolling Thru Time Auto Museum.

I’m a huge fan of Dale’s Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum. It is a huge American motorcycle collection in a tiny mountain town. The museum is loaded with character and pretty much everything runs.

Dale used to ride around in and out of the museum until he passed away. I was fortunate enough to meet him by accident, and luckily his son is following in his footsteps.

You don’t have to be a huge motorcycle fanatic to have a good time at these museums. Remember, you don’t have to be an artist to be able to appreciate a great work of art.

Museums like these can only exist if people visit them and unfortunately, sometimes, even that is not enough. If you’re curious about how many automotive museums have closed since I created the Automotive Museum Guide in 2018, click HERE.

One last thing. You may be aware Miles Through Time Automotive Museum had a sweepstakes for 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited LJ that was donated to the museum specifically to help support the museum.

The winner chose the cash option instead of the Jeep, which reduced the amount of money raised for the museum and left us with a Jeep. In order to recoup the funds given away from the sweepstakes and still find a new home for the Jeep, I listed it on Cars & Bids

The auction ends on Tuesday at 3:30 EDT. If you want it and are in a position to win it, I’d love to hand you the keys. If not, I get it, I would really appreciate just sharing the listing for me.

This one Jeep won’t raise enough money for the museum to build a new building, but every little bit helps and that is still the goal.

Automotive Museums, NOT Space Museums

One thing I've learned from creating my own "car museum" is that it doesn't take long to run out of space. I started Miles Through Time Automotive Museum in 2017 with only one car I inherited from my grandpa.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, and things automotive are ART.
