Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum

Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum began as a dream, of Richard Holmes, a Tulsa attorney, and car enthusiast.

In 2012 Holmes began putting together an advisory board that was all car lovers and collectors who all shared his dream. And the search for a suitable venue began. It has taken a long time, but the new Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum is finally a reality.

With three huge garage doors, even a World War II tank would be able to make its home within the walls of the museum. With 10,000 square feet of space, the building now shows off antique car displays on the drill room floor.

At the other end of the building, an area highlights the military use of the building, along with a space dedicated to honoring the Mother Road: Route 66.

American Muscle Car Museum

American Muscle Car Museum

Located in Melbourne, Florida, this new 123,000-square-foot complex houses the collection of Mark Pieloch. Mark has been a car enthusiast for over 40 years and has amassed over 400 cars that range from classic 1950s to 1970’s American muscle cars, to modern “sophisticated” muscle like a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Convertible

The 501(c)3 museum, located on 42 acres in Melbourne, includes 90,000 sqft of vehicle display area, an 18,000 sqft showroom, and an adjacent 15,000 sqft maintenance and restoration facility for the collection. The private museum is located at 3500 Sarno Road. It is not open to the public but is open to hosting numerous non-profit fundraisers, car activities, and educational tours for school-age children.

The collection itself, in addition to the cars, has vintage balloon tire bicycles, auto-related neon signs, antique gas pumps, jukeboxes, pedal cars, vintage soda coolers, motorcycles, and more.

The main features of the collection are:

– More than nearly 50 Indianapolis 500 Pace Cars & Trucks

– More than 35 Shelby’s

– 29 Yenkos, at least one car for every make and model ever built, which makes it the most extensive Yenko car collection in the world

– Over 80 First Place National show winners

Within the car collection, there are 75+ cars with less than 100 original miles, 40+ cars with between 100 to 999 original miles, and 30+ cars with between 1,000 to 9,999 original miles. As you stroll through the Museum you will literally see the “Who’s Who” of American Muscle cars.

Dauer Museum of Classic Cars

When you enter the Dauer Museum of Classic Cars, over 55 classic cars transport you back to an age when Americans engaged in a more simple life. You’ll see beautifully restored cars from the 1930s to the 1970s. As you walk along you will pass a nostalgic mural of the “Fabulous Fifties” while Marilyn Monroe looks down on her cream-colored Cadillac convertible.

When you walk by the Florida Medical Center mural, you can admire the vintage ambulance, fully restored. The interior is still functional, complete with all the medical technology known during the 1970s. It even has a loud working siren.

You then enter the perfectly replicated Texaco gasoline station, circa 1934, complete with an authentic Texaco gasoline truck and 1930’s vintage gasoline pumps, together with original products from the time when Americans were well into their love affair with the automobile.

And there are more than just cars. With just a few steps you are transported into a Hollywood premiere of the 50’s complete with the luxury cars that the stars arrived in as well as beautifully restored vintage Black and White and Color video cameras that the movies of the past were filmed on.

Museum of Automobiles

The Museum of Automobiles was founded by Winthrop Rockefeller in 1964 before he became Governor of Arkansas. The museum housed Rockefeller’s collection of antique and classic cars until his death in 1973, and in 1975 the collection was sold to collector Bill Harrah for $947,000, which included 68 motorized vehicles and three that were horse-drawn. The museum building, designed by the Little Rock firm of Ginocchio, Carter, Cromwell, and Neylan, and 57-acre grounds were donated to the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.

A new non-profit corporation was formed and reopened the Museum in 1976 with cars on loan from collectors around the country, leasing the building from the state.

There are 50 Antique Cars, 6 Antique Motorcycles, Antique License Plate Collection, Antique Small Cars, Antique Amusement Machines that still work, and a Gift Shop on display.
