The Museo Ferrari in Maranello was opened at the beginning of the 1990s, and focuses on Ferrari’s present and future, whilst remaining deeply rooted in the Prancing Horse’s extraordinary history. “Live the dream” is the motto which greets visitors, promising an engaging, unique experience.
The museum is divided into three areas by theme: the area dedicated to Formula 1 and the successes of a range of world champion drivers; the area dedicated to racing and road cars, updated on a yearly basis, with themed exhibitions which present the most significant cars in the brand’s history in a range of contexts which differ from one show to the next. The third area is the most interactive of the three, and is home to semi-professional Formula 1 simulators, two authentic single-seaters equipped for driving and dedicated to children and a Formula 1 car for visitors who want to take on a real tyre change. Guest can also drop into the Ferrari Store, the restaurant and the café, and finally, an important multi-purpose space for events, conventions and courses aimed at teens and adults, known as the Red Campus.
The museum is further enhanced by a Cinema Room with continuous projection of themed movies, as well as a highly-organized information office (IAT, Tourist Information Office) that can provide useful information to visitors who wish to discover the many opportunities ready to be enjoyed in the Maranello and Motor Valley area.

The fascinating history, iconic models and tours of the production lines inside the Lamborghini Automobile Museum reveal 60 years of innovation that are projecting Lamborghini into the future.
From the first visionary creations of the genius of Ferruccio Lamborghini, such as the Miura and the Countach, followed by the more recent and exclusive super sports cars like the Huracán Performante, the Aventador SVJ, and the few-offs Centenario, Sesto Elemento and Veneno, to arrive today with the first Lamborghinis with hybrid technology, the Sian and Countach LPI 800-4.
The Automobili Lamborghini Museum offers an interactive experience, also provided by the new driving simulator that amplifies the emotions and discovery of the vehicles on display.

On May 18, 1982, antiques dealer Helmut Pfeifhofer opened Europe’s first private Porsche car museum in Gmünd in Carinthia. It is no coincidence that someone from Gmünd came up with the idea of building such a museum. The dreamy town of Gmünd in Carinthia, the southernmost province of Austria, was the place where Porsche, after moving out of Stuttgart, was able to survive the turmoil of war with its team and machinery after 1944.
Helmut Pfeifhofer remembers:
“This was the time when my Porsche fanaticism began. As a ten-year-old boy, I went to school with some of the designers’ sons, and I was fascinated by Porsche and this fascination has continued to this day.”
In 1965 he bought the first Porsche 356 and painstakingly restored it. This was followed by VW Kübelwagen pretzel windows and others, but mainly Porsche 356. The pride of the collection, which has now grown to 48 vehicles, is a Porsche from the very first Gmündner series, hand-hammered aluminum body – chassis number 356 0020.
In 1976, Helmut Pfeifhofer bought the former court stables of the Counts of Lodron. The “Marhof” was renovated with enormous personal and financial commitment and the befitting abode for the Porsche car museum was created. An archive with a cinema and historical documentation is intended to set the mood for viewing the vehicles. A separate Gmünd department, where the constructions made in Gmünd are exhibited, takes the visitor to the creative period of the Porsche family, during the Gmünden years from 1944 to 1950.
Since the 10th anniversary there has been an agreement between the Porsche factory in Stuttgart and the “Porsche Automuseum Helmut Pfeifhofer” in Gmünd, a so-called MUSEUM STREET Stuttgart-Gmünd was set up. This means that the Porsche Automuseum in Gmünd always has a new SPECIAL EXHIBITION with interesting exhibits from the Porsche factory museum in Stuttgart. In 2001, his son Christoph took over this probably unique private collection and expanded it with rare racing cars that he successfully used in historic races.

The Swiss Museum of Transport opened on 1 July 1959 after two years of construction and quickly became the most visited museum in the country. 1969 saw the addition of the first and, to this day, only large planetarium in Switzerland, as well as the restaurant and office building. Complementing the other exhibition spaces, the Aviation and Space Travel Hall was opened in 1972.
Then between 1979 and 1985, the museum acquired the Hans Erni Museum, the second Rail Transport Hall (replacing the open-air railway area), and the Navigation, Cableways and Tourism Hall. A further expansion came in 1996 with the incorporation of the Filmtheatre cinema.
Marking the museum’s 50th anniversary, 2009 saw the iconic Road Transport Hall inaugurated and the entrance area with conference centre, catering facilities and shop redesigned. Lastly, the Swiss Chocolate Adventure visitor experience (2014) and Media World (2016) now form part of the museum complex.

Mahymobiles was opened to visitors on 29th September 2000.
Ghislain Mahy’s collection has two very unusual aspects. The collection is privately owned but, in March 1978, the Mahy family created a charitable foundation in order to prevent dispersion or compulsory sale following the death of a family member.
The second is the collection’s theme. It is probably unique worldwide in containing at least one example of every important aspect of automobile development. The Mahy collection is one of the largest in the world and includes more than nine hundred and fifty cars, sixty motorcycles, a collection of bicycles, children’s cars, some horse-drawn carriages, and sleighs.
Mahymobiles shows automotive history from its humble beginnings at the end of the 19th century to the present day.
