Vermont is a state in the northeastern United States, known for its natural landscape, which is primarily forested. Part of the New England region, it’s also known for being home to more than 100 19th-century covered wooden bridges, and as a major producer of maple syrup. Thousands of acres of mountain terrain are crossed by hiking trails and skiing slopes.

When you think of Vermont, you probably picture peace and quiet and bucolic mountain views – but the state’s louder, faster side has a long history as well. In 2017, Vermonter Ken Squier was elected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s Class of 2018, part of his a long and amazing race career. It’s no coincidence that the same time Squier was inducted, Vermont Gov. Phil Scott was racing and winning in the Late Model division. Racing is part o Vermont just as much as maple syrup.
