I think big. This week we should all be thinking BIG. Take it from a guy who decided to create Miles Through Time Automotive Museum after inheriting just one car.
I’m also the same guy who didn’t have a clue what I was doing, nor did I have the financial means to create a museum, but then also decided to take all of my “museum” research and created automotivemuseumguide.com.
If you showed me in 2017 what Miles Through Time Automotive Museum would be today, I would have no idea how that would be possible, but there’d be no doubt in my mind that it would become what it is today and more.
I have my sights on either constructing a brand-new facility for the museum or perhaps an old mill like this one I found, could be revitalized with the right investors.
Either direction Miles Through Time goes in, I’ll need help, and that’s okay. The museum is only as great as it is today because of the people who have chosen to be a part of Miles Through Time. I’m excited to see what happens next.
In the spirit of thinking BIG, this week’s automotive museums have big vehicles to see.
The Mahan Collection Foundation Inc. has 6 buildings spread across 40 acres with close to 200 big trucks. The big trucks date back to 1916 and go all the way up to 2001.
Another big rig museum you can visit is the Pacific Northwest Truck Museum. This museum has over 75 trucks on display and shows you the unique innovations that were developed over the years for the trucking industry.
Buses are big vehicles as well, and at the Museum of Bus Transportation you can see some really cool old buses. As a bonus, this museum has been absorbed by the AACA Museum, so you’ll be able to see a lot more than just buses.
