Canillo Motorcycle Museum

Andorra, Europe

The Canillo Motorcycle Museum allows the visitor to witness the evolution of the motorcycle over more than two centuries (1896-2013) through an exhibition containing 150 models of the most iconic brands in a 700 m2 space.

The two wheels and the strong and unmistakeable smell of gasoline have become distinctive signs ever since Sylvester Howard Roper invented the first steam motorcycle in 1867 – a coal-fired two-cylinder steam engine.

The never-ending evolution of this original invention, which has been marked both by technological progress and by the various trends in its design, has been parallel to that of mankind, and has been used for work, for leisure, in sports, in war and in peace.

The Canillo Motorcycle Museum (also known as Museu de les Dues Rodes or M2R) is the only motorcycle museum in Andorra of its kind and its goal is to pay homage to this endearing invention which, no doubt, deserves a special place in the pages of our history.
